Jim Lawson
Jr Vice Commander - Air Force

Greetings and thank  you for visiting our website. I am Jim Lawson, 2nd term VFW Post 4534 Commander. I was born and raised in Brownwood Tx, which is located a few hours south of Dallas. I joined the Air Force in 1992 and completed 7 years of active duty.  I met my wife, Kassi, while stationed at Tyndall Air Force, Panama City, Florida in 1997 following a one year remote tour at Kunsan Airbase Korea. Upon separating from the Air Force in September of 1999 we moved to Tampa Florida and wed in March of 2003.  In Aug of 2003, I accepted a civil service position at Patrick Air Force Base and in June 2004 we welcomed our one and only child, James "Bradley" Lawson to the world. In September of 2004 I decided to resume my military career as a Traditional Reservist assigned to the 920th Rescue Wing at Patrick Air Force Base. Since joining the Reserves, I have activated for deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

I feel comfortable in stating that I have the utmost 'respect' for our veterans and those whom support our veterans.  I am fortunate to have a committed 'team' of officers that are goal oriented on moving forward to enhance our post. Our goal is to continue to strive towards an encompassed home away from home environment - an environment conducive to the comradeship and family oriented lifestyle many of us came to know while in service to our great country,
