Greetings Rocket Post,
WOW!
Last week was super busy around the post and what an awesome week it was. From
Paint Stick Bingo to Chicken Fried Steak dinner, Taco night, then that awesome
Cornish Hen Dinner Friday night with a Karaoke contest and then Saturday we top
it off with the 495th Legends Golf Scramble and the Halloween Party Saturday
night! This has been an excellent week at the Rocket.
We
might slow it down a little this week but not that much. This week we will have
the Pool tourney Monday night, Paint Stick and Texas hold’em on Tuesday night,
Those awesome Tacos on Thursday and Friday we are having a tailgate party for
the Rockledge Raiders football team from 4 pm to 7 pm and then if you would
like, some of our members are heading over to watch the Raiders take on the
Tigers from Cocoa High. We will finish out the week Saturday with Show me the
Money at 1PM on Saturday.
Big
shout out to Carl Davis for all his hard work last week with the Chicken Fried
Steak Dinner and then the Cornish hen dinner Friday, which sold out. All of the
volunteers that helped Carl out you should give yourself a pat on the back.
Great job everyone.
For the Tailgate Party for the Rockledge Raiders we will offer Burgers,
Dogs, Pulled Pork, Chips and Coleslaw for $5.00 for members, for high school
students it is donation only.
I mentioned last week that the Commander
and the Aux President would be delivering the items to the humane society that so
many of you donated over the past three weeks. After loading both their
vehicles Friday morning, they delivered and the humane society was overjoyed
with the generosity shown from the Rocket Post. You all have huge hearts and it
show.
We
still have tickets available for the Spaghetti dinner on 13 November. Remember,
this dinner will start at 3:00 PM and there will be raffles and other things
going on. All proceeds from the dinner will go towards the Christmas for the
kids at the Orlando Children’s Hospital. See one of the canteen associates if
you have any questions.
If
you have not heard, we have a 55 inch color television to raffle off for the
Christmas fund for Roses Christmas. See the canteen associate and get your
ticket or tickets. The television is in the canteen on the right side, you
really can’t miss it.
Hope
everyone had a great Halloween last night. I know for us it was great seeing so
many families out with their children and having our youngest granddaughter greeting
everyone.
The
holiday season is upon us and now we are going to focus on Thanksgiving and
Christmas. For Thanksgiving please see the flyer for our annual dinner which
will be on the 25th starting at noon. Get with Carl Davis if you
would like to volunteer for set up, serving, and clean up. This is always a
great event for our post, our membership and their families and friends.
