"AT THE ROCKET”

Greetings Rocket Post,

We have had another great week and weekend at the Rocket Post. We have had some conversations about emotional support animals and service dogs and who can bring who in the post or any other venue for that matter. Here are the two questions you need to be able to answer if you wish to bring your "Service Dog” into the Post. (1) Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? And (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform? After you verbally confirm that your dog is a trained service dog you will be allowed in. Some rules pertaining to any service dog in the post or any venue are as follows. If your service dog violates any of the following you will be asked to exit the property and not return without proof of passing a Public Access Test. https://www.servicedogcertifications.org/service-dog-requirements/#step4

·        No aggressive behavior towards people and other animals.

·        Cease sniffing behaviors unless released to do so.

·        No solicitations for food or affection while on duty.

·        No over-excitement and hyperactivity in public.

·        Able to tolerate novel sights and sounds in various public settings.

·        No unruly behavior or excessive barking.

·        No relieving themselves in public without being given a specific command.

The local Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA) is having their Meet and Greet at the Rocket Post this Wednesday night at 7 PM. One of their members known as Wild Bill will be entertaining us with his Guitar and his daughter will be playing drums. We will have Pizza for donation and I hope to see you at the post supporting a combat Veteran and his daughter. I personally think this could be the start of something and it’s certainly something we have not tried in a great while. After Wednesday night I hope to get some feedback and we will see if this is something we want to try in the future.

Bingo Players! 12 September will be the start of the NFL season and as you all remember, the screen room and the canteen will have the games on. If you choose to play bingo in the canteen please remember you will need to use the screens in the canteen because the speakers will be off. If you wish to hear the numbers please play in the hall.

As always, please share this information with other members that do not check Facebook or the Post Web Page. I am still hearing from members that say they did not know what was going on at the Post.
