Veterans Voices Writing Project

Have any of you ever heard or Veterans Voices Writing Project? I had not heard of it and I am amazed this has been round since 1946 and was originally intended to help service members from WWII. The goal was to have the service member write their stories, thoughts and feelings on paper in an attempt to cure them from their demons. This may not work for everyone but if this helps one veteran I feel this is worthwhile topic to write about.

Here is how simple it is now days since we have moved up from pen and paper to typewriters and regular mail to the new digital age where you can type and submit right from your living room.

On your computer or iPad or whatever personal device you use; type in www.veteransvoices.org there you will see a menu and you will find "submission”. From there follow the instructions and tell everyone your story. You can also read others stories and find out that you are not the only one who feels the way you do.

I know there are a lot of avenues our veterans can take for help and truthfully I do not think one way works for everyone. This idea of writing your thoughts or your story seems like a great idea to me because I have always enjoyed writing and it does in fact help you release certain stresses and like I said before; if this helps one person I feel this is worth the time I took to write it and read up about this project.

Normally I would share this with the veterans organization’s I am affiliated with but this information needs to get out to others who may not know about it because I know there are a lot of people that know a veteran and maybe, just maybe, this could help someone. Please share this with your friends even if they are not a vet because they may know someone.
