Greetings Rocket Post,
We
had another great week and weekend at the Rocket. We sold out of Baked and
Fried Fish Friday evening and that’s a first in a long time. What a great job
by our volunteer cook team for taking care of the rest of our guests with the Chicken
breast dinner.
Saturday
we tried to have a little fun at the Post with a cookout including a DJ outside
and for those of you that missed it I have to tell you that you missed out on a
great time had by all in attendance. Huge thanks to the commander for getting
the DJ, he did a fantastic job. For all of you that brought in the sides to
share, thank you so much, I saw my favorite rice, my favorite sliders and a
good friend brought in has family recipe "Damn Beans” that I heard a lot of you
talking about. No he will not give away the recipe. For those that volunteered
on the grill, I can’t say thank you enough, it was hot and it was a lot. For
all the help preparing for the day as well as the entire cleanup afterwards, I
loved seeing the team work and it was knocked out in no time at all. I was asked
if this will be a quarterly event! That is up to the membership but I will tell
that the next time we do this, we will have a dunking booth and I will be in
that instead of on the grill!
General Membership do not forget this Wednesday we have our House
Committee Meeting at 5:30 PM and the monthly meeting starting at 7:00 PM. This
is where you get heard so hope to see you there.
The
Rocket Auxiliary is collecting school supplies so if you would like to donate
please drop by the post and place the items in the box in the canteen. Here are
some of the items needed for the Anderson Elementary school. Crayons, Blunt
Scissors, Glue Sticks, Folders, Notebook Paper, Copy Paper, Colored paper,
Pencils, Eraser’s, Index Cards, Expo markers, Paper Towels, Tissues,
Clorox/Lysol Wipes, Hand Sanitizer, Ziploc Bags and Baby Wipes. If you wish to

The 30thof July we have a real treat with an Italian Chef coming into our kitchen and
preparing our Commanders Choice Dinner, this is going to be something special
for sure.
