Greetings Rocket Post,
This ATR will be longer than normal
because I have a lot of information to put out. I will print this out and have
copies at the post as well. We have a few important things coming up and I need
your help getting this information to those that do not check Facebook or our
web page.
We had a great weekend in Orlando at the
State VFW annual Convention. Learned a great deal, and had the rare honor of
hearing guest speakers Senator Rick Scott and Governor Ron DeSantis.
Our newly installed Officers officially
took their seats yesterday. Please join me in welcoming some new names and
faces and some old names and faces. Hopefully this year we do not have to deal
with any form of pandemic and things will run smooth.
This Saturday 26 June we have Franklin
Carter giving out information about how money works. This will be in the hall
from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM and 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM. If you would like to learn more
about money matters and improve your future please come by the post and listen
to this briefing.
Monday 28 June we will be escorting CPL
Bill Fanning on his journey to his final resting place at Cape Canaveral
National Cemetery (CCNC). See instructions below and if you have any questions
please ask. If you wish to print just the ride plan see attachment.

When: Monday, June 28 2021 at 12:30 PM
Where: Cape Canaveral National Cemetery (CCNC).
Service at CCNC will be
at 1230 Hrs. we will line in Lane A by 12:15 PM
Rally Point will be at
2825 South Washington Ave. This is in Titusville on US-1 across form Steve’s
Family Diner.
**NOTE- This is for Cars
and Motorcycles. We will line up with Ro in the front behind two bikes and the
remaining bikes will follow and then all the cars will follow. We need to line
up by 11:35 Am so we can depart at 11:45
Route will be US-1 to CCNC about 25 minutes so we will roll out at
11:45 AM
Anyone coming from the
south please meet at Indian River Furniture just north of the VFW Post 4534 in
Rockledge by 10:45 AM and we will roll out at 11:00 AM from the Indian River
Furniture concrete pad.
After the service we
will roll south to the VFW Post 4534 for Bills Celebration of Life which will
start at 3:00 PM (1500 Hrs.) Come and join Bills wife of over 38 years, Ro and
the rest of their family. Bill was not only a Marine and loving Husband, he was
a Father to Christopher and Kelly Ann, Grandfather to four Matthew, Katie, Luke
and Nicole They called him Pop Pop, Brother to Tim and Rob and one hell of a
cook and he will never be forgotten. Bill Loved Fireball so you can rest
assured there will be some of that floating around.
CPL Fanning, Bill served
as a Rifleman in the Marine Corps. His awards and decorations include the
National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Vietnam Service
Medal w/3 Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry
w/Palm & Frame and Good Conduct Medal
The Post will provide the main dish for
Bills Celebration of Life, if you would like to bring a side to share please
contact Diana Collier (321) 749-7735 and let her know what you are bringing.
Normally we have
our "Show Me The Money” on the first Saturday of the month. It has been changed
for July, due to many members traveling or having other plans for the
Independence holiday weekend. The "Show Me The Money” will be on the 10thof July at 1:00 PM.
