Greetings Rocket Post,
If you did not see my short post yesterday
on our Facebook please check it out as it highlights last week at the Rocket
Post. Absolutely fantastic!
For those that came to the Post yesterday
you found out we have a new appreciation day. The first Sunday of February will
now be "Auxiliary Appreciation day”. We found out this was approved on Saturday
and made a quick decision to show our appreciation to our Auxiliary members by
giving them a free drink upon entry. So, moving forward we will highlight the first
Sunday of February and next year we will have more time to prepare something
more special. Know that we all appreciate our Auxiliary for all that you do in
and around our post and your support is appreciated every single day.
Something else that we had discussed and
approved is "Red Shirt Friday”. Moving forward, if you wear a red shirt on
Friday that is affiliated with the military you will get a drink chip with your
first drink order. They have shirts that actually say R.E.D. (Remember Everyone
Deployed) but you can also wear your red VFW shirt or any red shirt that shows
military support.
It is
with great pleasure to announce that Post 4534 candidates for Patriots Pen
(Megan Deadwyler), Voice of Democracy (John Deluca) and Teacher of the Year
(Amy Farner) took first place at the District meeting held at Post 8191 on 6
Feb 2021. Go Rocket Post.
Huge
thank you to Evelyn for Sunday morning breakfast; beyond fantastic as usual.
First Sunday of each month Evelyn will be in the kitchen serving your breakfast
to order from 8:00 AM thru 11:00 AM so don’t miss out.
Last
night’s chili cook-off was a tie but unfortunately the chili was overshadowed
by the ham and cheese sliders. Great job Bob and Rose Ann Patt. I will also say
that the deviled eggs came in right behind the sliders. Congrats to all you Buccaneers
fans on the Superbowl win.
Anybody want to volunteer in the kitchen
on Thursday, Friday, or Sunday? Please get with the canteen associate or the
kitchen manager. We have sign-up sheets and we also have training on the
fryers, the grill and new dishwasher. It is super easy and it is a lot of fun.
