Greetings Rocket Post,

What an awesome Monday everyone! For those of you that missed this past weekend at the Rocket I gotta tell you, it was one of the best weekends in a very long time and I could not be happier.

Friday night Steak or Pork Chop dinner was beyond my expectations, we sold out of the Pork Chops, we sold out of the Chicken breast and we only had 2 steaks left at 7:20 PM. I heard a lot of requests for more Pork Chops in the future and you shall have that. We will get more for the next Steak/ Pork Chop dinner on 25 September. I can’t say enough about the team in the kitchen that worked their tails off and made it look very easy, great job Ladies and Gents.

Saturday our pool players had the tourney at 2:00 PM and after speaking to them it looks like we will adjust that time to 4:30 PM so they will be able to take care of other commitments throughout the day and for those that work they will now be able to attend. We will still close at 7 or 7:30 PM until attendance picks up on Saturday evenings. Once we get back to 100% hopefully we can put a second shift canteen associate on Saturdays but for now we will keep that at a single shift. Keep in mind it is up to the Canteen associate to close or stay open later if attendance is good.

Sunday turned out to be far better than what I expected as well! We had the grill going from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM and stayed pretty steady. Bingo pots are getting a little bigger and we actually had a roll over for the first Jackpot game that was pretty nice. I will be talking with the Bingo Committee this week in an attempt to update the Bingo rules and procedures. We will be bringing back Thursday afternoon bingo on a trial basis for the next 4 weeks and if attendance is good we will continue this. So for all you Bingo players I hope to see you at the Rocket on Thursday at 1:00 PM. Please remember that Thursday is usually the Golfers afternoon in the canteen so please play Bingo in the Hall on Thursday afternoons. Bingo will need to end not later than 4:30PM.

All General Members! Wednesday 16 September I highly encourage all of you to attend the monthly meeting if you want your thoughts and desires heard. We will be discussing a few things and if you do not attend you cannot be upset about the outcome.

This Friday before dinner gets started we will have the Cake Cutting for the Air Force Birthday. Comrade Lawson will speak and ensure the cake is cut properly and safe for human consumption. Come celebrate 73 years of the Air Force.

Have a wonderful week.
