"AT THE ROCKET”
VFW Post 4534
11.9.2020
Greetings Rocket Post,
Important message about Thanksgiving Day;
we will serve from noon to 2:00 PM and then we will clean and serve again at
2:30 PM thru 4:30 PM. We will have the hall, the canteen and the screen room
and all plates will be served to order. I know in the past we had it set up
like a buffet but in keeping with better sanitation we will ask you to select
what you would like and we will serve it to you, similar to Friday night
dinners. I will put the menu below. As always our members who dine at the post
eat for free, this includes one guest for free. Additional guests we ask for a
$5.00 donation and for all "carry out” orders we ask for a $5.00 donation. We
already have the volunteers who will do the preparation and for that I say a huge
Thank you. The Rockledge High School Key Club has volunteered to handle the
serving and clean up for our Thanksgiving dinner. This club promotes leadership
as well as community service. We have the sign-up sheets in the canteen so
please get signed up for one of the two servings and let us know how many
guests you will have. If you can’t make it to the post please call the canteen
associate so we can keep track of how many guests we will have. Thank you. Any
additional suggestions, volunteers, and concerns about the Thanksgiving dinner
please call or email our Jr. Vice Commander, Rick McFarland (321)243-3484 atlntcclssc@aol.com Thank you in advance.
Reminder, Tuesday night at 6:00 PM we are
celebrating the Marines birthday. At 6:00 PM we will have a cake cutting
ceremony. Regardless what branch you served in I hope to see you there to
support our Marines and their birthday.
On Wednesday we will have our Veterans Day
Ceremony kicking off at 1:00 PM. We will also provide lunch after the ceremony.
Come out and show your support for our hero’s.
Thursday Bingo! Not sure if the word is
not being spread so please let the other members know that Thursdays at 1:00 PM
we have Bingo. Bring your guests and enjoy the afternoon. The Sunday Bingo is
getting better every week. Yesterday’s second jackpot was over $200.00. Hope to
see more of you there for Thursday afternoons.
We are slowly getting back to normal
around the Post. We are bringing back Thursday night entertainment due to
numerous requests. So this Thursday not only can you get some of the best Tacos
around you can also enjoy karaoke with Rockin Robbin from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. looking
forward to seeing you there.
Friday night we have the awesome Steak or
Pork Chop dinner with all the goodies. Come out and enjoy a great meal for a
fantastic price.
Don’t forget to sign in the daily and
weekly when you visit the Post and do not miss out on the two drawings the
Auxiliary is having. They have a beautiful handmade American Flag and they have
a Fall Basket with all kinds of goodies in it. See the canteen associate for
your tickets.
Have a wonderful
week.
